Faith

Hope and a Future

God is in control, and He is full of surprises. I knew for certain that my life was meant to be lived in Michigan, and I was determined to do just that. Instead, I found nothing but closed doors. But God is faithful and opened one in California.

I had no idea even three months beforehand, that I would end up in California. And I certainly had no idea how I would even get there: I had exactly -$0.67 in my bank account and my car payment was two months past due! But since God is faithful, I put my trust in Him and packed my car with everything that would fit in it and drove across country into the great unknown.

When I arrived, despite having no money or job, I felt a hope and a future for the first time since going away to college. The lesson is that we have to walk in our faith even when we don’t see how it will work out and trust that God will be there every step of the way, making sure it does (2 Corinthians 5:7, James 2:26, Jeremiah 29:11).

My newfound California cousin’s new single turned out to be the perfect theme song for my move to California!
