Shortly after moving to L.A., my neighbor invited me to attend a live taping of a TV show the night before it was to be taped. I happily accepted, immediately. And then she sent me the email of instructions about what to wear and I thought, Oh no! I don’t think I have a single thing in my closet to wear and… it’s too late to go out to buy anything.
I ended up having to settle on something that I otherwise would never have worn (see below).
However, I learned something from that experience: In L.A., I always have to be ready. From then on, I have taken care to invest in a “special events” wardrobe. And it’s a good thing I did because invitations have continued to come in, often with little notice.
We learn in verses 21 and 25 that the Proverbs 31 Woman has no fear of the future because she prepares herself and her family for it. For me, this is where Black Friday sales have been especially helpful. They last throughout the entire month of November. And with everything on sale, I have been able to get the things I need at excellent prices.
