Glow Girl Inner Beauty

I Am a Model

That was the message given by one of the guest speakers at the Arise 2019 Women’s Conference: I am a model. A friend invited me to attend and her pastor, Jason Lozano, was giving the message. I was very interested to hear what he, a man, had to say to us women about how to live virtuously. It turns out, quite a lot. He went on to teach us five things we are to model as women of God, and yes, one of them is clothes…sort of. I will go into more detail on these points in later posts, but in summary, here is why he had us declare ourselves as models:

We are to model a “Seek God first” attitude (Matthew 6:33). In other words, we are not to stop at making God a priority, we are to demonstrate that to others.

We are to model both inner and outer beauty. He describes modeling inner beauty as being grateful and at peace with our lives, and that inner beauty includes eating right. As for outer beauty, he explains that we are to model appearance (such as modesty) and taking care of ourselves.

We are also to model a blessed household by taking care of our families. We are to model ministry for other women to follow. And we are to model a generous and prosperous life. In other words, we are to show love and kindness to others.

I love this instruction, and I am hoping to accomplish all of these things with and through my blog.

  1. […] This is important because as women who desire to be like the Proverbs 31 woman, we are to teach others what God has to say about issues that we are facing today, not sit silently or teach man’s wisdom. For more on our responsibility to be models for other women, please read my previous post, I Am a Model. […]
