29 Healthy Winter Recipes

If it were not for Christmas, winter would be my least favorite season.  And since Christmas is at the beginning of winter, that means the rest of the season is long.  One of the things I do not like about winter is that there doesn’t seem to be much variety in the produce section since most of my favorite fruits are no longer in season.  Then I remembered this scripture:

“She is like the merchant ships [abounding with treasure]; She brings her [household’s] food from far away.” – Proverbs 31:14 AMP

I wondered if maybe I just need to expand my horizons and try new produce that may be less familiar to me, that may come from other places where it is still in season.  What I discovered is that there are some delicious winter salads that I can add to my winter menu.  Salads in the winter?  Who would have thought?

Winter Salads

I love fruit!  It is my favorite food, so I was excited when I found this recipe: Winter Papaya Salad, and then again when I came across this one: Fresh Winter Citrus Salad with Mint. I realized that winter fruit salads are a thing. I decided to look for other winter salads and this is what I found, to name a few:

Soup

Of course, soup still reigns supreme when it comes to winter meal planning!  And it’s a good thing, too, because there are so many delicious recipes to choose from.

And bonus: soup is easy to meal prep; a big batch will provide you with a week of lunches, or dinner if it is hearty.  Plus most soups, filling and hydrating, are healthy, containing nutrients that boost your immunity and help you fight off disease.  Here are a few to try:

Vegetable Soups

Winter is the perfect time for some comfort foods, right?  But this is also a good time to eat healthy.  It can be difficult to find the balance.  I hope these recipes help:

Healthy Winter Breakfast Recipes

I wish I was a fan of oatmeal because not only is it healthy and perfect for winter, there are quite a few recipes to keep things interesting.  Here are six recipes, including apple cinnamon and banana nut. Even healthier is this Turmeric Oatmeal recipe.

And for a quick breakfast on busy mornings, Espresso Cinnamon Overnight Oats.

Other Healthy Breakfast Options

Some of these recipes undoubtedly sound too delicious to be healthy, like those Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, but they are.  I can’t wait to try those, by the way!

Health is a virtue of the Proverbs 31 Woman; she is careful to take care of herself physically, mentally, and spiritually.  She makes healthy food for herself and for her loved ones.

“She equips herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] And makes her arms strong.” – Proverbs 31:17 AMP
