Flag Football Fellowship

Flag football game at Manhattan Beach

Small groups are a wonderful thing to have at church and is one of the things that appealed to me about Oasis LA. I especially liked how they rolled out new groups every season so that we could try new things, and more importantly, meet new people.

The very first small group that I joined was the Co-Ed Flag Football group. Here we are playing at Manhattan Beach. Or rather, I should say, here they are playing at Manhattan Beach while I snapped these lovely photos of the huddles.

Oasis LA Co-Ed Flag Football Group

We always started off with a discussion of the book we were reading, The 40 Day Soul Fast by Cindy Trimm and prayer. Afterward, we had snacks and fellowship.

I was also in the Hiking/Fitness Group and Saturday Tutoring that fall, and in the Everybody Always – Salsa Group the following summer. Small groups were a great way to meet new people in a new city. I still have some of those friends….
